I’m finding that as the days get shorter and colder it gets harder and harder to operate on a normal schedule. That is, I’m most awake between the hours of 9pm - 2am, which is really quite irritating since I’m exhausted up until then, and then wide awake as soon as the clock hits 9 . And it should really be the other way around since I need to function during the day and sleep during the night, but I just end up wanting to sleep all day and functioning at night. Is this just me?

Today my high school’s football team played their first round of playoffs. Since they won (40 - 20something?), they can play another game, and if they win that game, they can play the championship game, and if they win that, THEY WIN!! The Boyfriend starts on the uhm, o-line (?) as a lineman (?), so I went to go cheer for him in the blistering wind and terrible cold! Ahh, the things you do for love ;P In any case, he told me to wear black, because we were trying to “blackout” the other team, so I did. And then I added a clip because I kinda love it.

I’m not sure if words can describe how much I love lace. And tartan. Especially together. The mix of feminine and not-so-feminine really does it for me, I think.

And wow, do you see those finger prints all over my mirror? I hate cleaning, but I love clean places.. So when I do get around to cleaning my room, I relish in my lack of clutter for all of one day before I start throwing clothes all over the floor again. Also, am I the only one who believes in organized chaos? Sure, it would probably not be too far-fetched to mistake my room for disaster area, but I know where everything is. As soon as my mother starts cleaning things (and I am fully aware that this is a first world problem: my mother makes my room spotless for me sometimes, OH NOES!) I start to lose things. Like just recently I found a shirt I bought during the summer that I thought my mom had just thrown away because she doesn’t like it. Is this just me?

I feel like this sweater is Mondrian if he were to ever try acid. As in neon colors. They make me ridiculously happy.

In any case, this is what I wore to see Zack & Miri make a porno with The Boyfriend this weekend. I thought it would be hilarious because it has porno in its title and that makes me giggle, but it was really completely terrible! The Boyfriend agrees, and he usually likes Seth Rogan and silly immature body fluid humor. So really, do yourself a favor and do NOT see this movie.

Rating: out of 5. There was one scene in which Justin Long was delightfully flamboyant, and that made the movie for me.

I nearly failed the test though, I think. I failed at parallel parking twice and missed every single turn single after getting all flustered and nervous because my tester was like “you don’t want to ride the brake through the turn, the people behind you will think you’re going to stop!” and I panicked and thought I was going to fail. But I didn’t apparently, which is perhaps a miracle, but I’m not complaining.

I’m not sure if there’s anything more relaxing, since I drive far below the speed limit and only to the three places I know how to get to, which are my school, my job, and the post office. I may need to add The Boyfriend’s house to that list soon, because I usually make him come to me, but we’ll see if I can handle memorizing the routes from my house to four different places.

Anyways, I didn’t post what I wore for Election Day 2008 because I was being all emotional and caught up in the moment, but here’s what I wore. I tried to go for all blue, since I’m a super liberal, like basically every other young person in America, but I didn’t own enough blue things and just went for the primary colors. Not sure how I feel about that yet.

Anyhow, it was my sister’s little little sister’s birthday today. Last year, I shook her awake at midnight and was all “HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY!!!” and she was all like “Doode, I’m 14.” But this year I remembered how old she was. We celebrated by buying her a lovely cheesecake, which looked a helluva lot better than the one she and I made our mom for her 47th birthday.

Other than cake eating, we didn’t really do much except for take hilariously embarassing pictures. I promised her I wouldn’t publicize them, so instead of posting them here for an untold number of strangers to gawk at, I’ll just upload them to the “Just to embarass Joanne” album I have on Facebook so all her friends and people who know her can see them!

This is what I wore last Friday. This week is “Spirit Week” because my homecoming is this Saturady. Today was college day (I wore a Stanford hoodie and jeans, nothing special). Tomorrow is international/tourist day, and I’m entertaining the idea of going all out and wearing something very, very Chinese… But I probably won’t even though the dress is gorgeous because my mother would stone me.

Also, I’m completely swamped with work, and I have a feeling my site is being glitchy… I’ll need to fix it some time.

Tomorrow night I’m sleeping over at an University to get a feel of it and whatnot. Then I’ll sit in on a class on Thursday (since I have no school because of Yom Kippur - thank you Jews). I’m a little worried that I’ll accidentally blurt out a story about how The Boyfriend flips out whenever I fart on him. Because that’s my idea of breaking the ice. Or I’ll ask how much a polar bear weighs. And then I’ll say enough to break the ice, hi, how are you. And I wonder why I’m so awkward.

I’ve been avoiding studying for the Physics SAT Subject Test I have to take this Saturday and instead going through the terms people have searched that have led them to my blog, and I can’t say that they’re really what I would like to be associated with…

• The typical creepy Asian fetish sort of searches: asian girl in pajamas, cute asian(s), my cute asian, and, my favorite, cute asians pooping.
  
• Half a gazillion searches involving tiny bugs, probably as a result of this post: tiny bugs, tiny bugs on paper, pictures of tiny bugs, blue tiny bugs, i have see through tiny bugs what are they, i have tiny bugs in my house, seeing tiny bugs that are not really there, tiny bug crawling virus, i think i have a bug in my nose…. 38 different varieties of that.
  
• A lot of queries involving pajamas and any of the movies I’ve reviewed. So Wall-E Pajamas, Iron Man Pajamas, Kung Fu Panda Pajamas, etc. And a whole bunch of “warm sexy pajamas” and “spongebob or jonas brothers pajamas for 18 years olds.”

I’ve been feeling slouchy cardigans and skirts/dresses lately. I’ve always loved the “short-skirt-long-jacket” sort of look, and I’ve been on the look out for blazers for good knows how long so I can love the “short-skirt-oversized-blazer” look as well. I also feel the need to get more and more slouchy sweaters as winter gets nearer and nearer. I abhor winter with every fiber of my being because it means that my mother forces pants and longsleeves upon me…. And I don’t have the wardrobe to do menswear well. My next shopping spree will sadly be spent on looking for nice warm tights, cute jackets, flannel plaid, suspenders, oxfords, and other stuff more suitable for cold weather.

The little Nike symbol annoys me a bit, but I haven’t had the chance to sew something over it. I think The Boyfriend might have some issues if I stitch a little red heart over it, because when he saw that I had cut the collar off of it so that I could wear it slouchy and off the shoulder, he was all “BUT I CAN STILL WEAR THAT!!!”

You should have seen how many people thought this dress was scandalous/hideous. And how many more people loved it.

First of all, this Indian guy who thinks he’s black told my friend that he thinks that I dress “promiscuously,” that if I were his girlfriend he wouldn’t let me dress like I do, and that my lack of modesty stems from my lack of confidence and insecurity. Which is complete and total bullshit, because if he even knew took the chance to get to know me instead of judging me, he would understand how enormously inflated my ego is. And then I told The Boyfriend, who after some prodding told me that he thinks I dress like a slut sometimes too. Which was a little shocking, because although I do love and wear a lot of mini dresses,  I also enjoy wearing longer skirts and slouchy sweaters.  And on another note, are the mini dresses I wear really of scandalous length? He later said that it was half him being possessive and half him really thinking that I dress like a slut sometimes, which is still a bit irritating. I’m not quite sure how to react to that or what to think about it, because although I obviously do care about what The Boyfriend thinks, I don’t think I dress like a slut. Risqué - according to my sheltered suburban town standards - perhaps, but slutty no. In addition, I just don’t think “modesty” is one of my traits. Or, rather, I’m just not averse to short hemlines and tight fitting clothing.

And should I be thought of negatively because of that? Because I like to wear body-con dresses while my body is still a relatively pleasing-to-look-at shape? Because I don’t think seeing parts of someone’s thigh is offensive? Because I honestly don’t care if you can see my bra? Because I think it’s completely illogical that people are okay with seeing girls in bikinis but if they throw on a short dress it’s practically sacrilegious, even though a short dress actually covers more skin than a bikini? Because I adore wearing 3inch stilettos because they make me fell empowered? Why the hell is this such a big deal?

Although I hate just chalking it up to this, maybe it’s the fact that I’m only 17 and in high school in a small suburban town on the East Coast of the United States of America. It’s time to join a fucking nudist colony, man.

It’s always incredibly difficult finding white t-shirts through which brightly colored bras don’t show through, so I eventually just thought fuck it and wore that white shirt with a bright pink bra underneath. And during my fashion class, the slightly obnoxious, heavily BO-ed girl next to me leaned towards me within minutes of seeing my attire and hissed in a a conspiratorial whisper, “YOUR SHIRT IS SEE THROUGH.” I was all like yes, I’m aware of that, and then the next day I wore another see-through shirt.

Doesn’t it bother you when people are bothered by the fact that they can see your bra? I mean yes, sometimes it looks funny when a strap is just hanging out there, but you just fix it and go on with your life. Or if sometimes I’m wearing a low back shirt and my bra occasionally slips out. There is no need to say jokingly, “OH, YOU WHORE!” and giggle as though being called a whore - even jokingly - isn’t irritating. There is no need to stop the presses and/or make a big deal out of it. That just makes me want to say, “Do these straps damage your corneas in any way? Would it make you feel better if you didn’t have visual proof that I wear a bra? Does knowing that I wear a bra offend you? Don’t you think it would be there even if you couldn’t see any straps? Have you ever worn a bikini or even seen someone else wear a bikini? THAN YOU’VE SEEN SOMEONE NEARLY NAKED SO FFS GET OVER THE BRA STRAP.”

Maybe I just have no sense of modesty, because except for that fact that I kinda adore clothes, I would be okay with being a nudist. OR MAYBE PEOPLE ARE JUST ODDLY AFRAID OF SEEING BRA STRAPS.

I went parasailing.. And was upset because it didn’t go high enough.

If you look closely, you’ll be able to tell that I have my legs crossed. That’s how I roll.

Also, I impulsively decided at around 11pm last night to cut my bangs straight across. I think I did pretty well with them, although The Boyfriend is distressed because he likes side bangs more.

I harbor a secret desire to get accosted by Girls Gone Wild so that I can tell great stories when I’m 80 and horrify my grandchildren.

Another mishap that happened was my mother telling me that I looked like a hooker. I’m not sure that means much because my mother thinks that anything red is the mark of a hooker and any sort of tights or footwear other than opaque black tights or sneakers are symbolic of prostitution, but it is a little upsetting. I suppose I understand her reaction, because I was wearing vertically striped tights and all. She acted as though we were 16th century Puritans and I was screaming God’s name in vain while cavorting with several infidels.. on a Sunday.

I wore it with the scarf in the second picture, because I kinda liked how the horizontal/vertical stripes looked together, but I’m kinda liking the way the red pops. I’ve been feeling a lot of black lately.

John Nash, a schizophrenic mathematician Nobel Laureate and the inspiration behind A Beautiful Mind, lives in the same area as me. Apparently, he and another man who won the Nobel Prize (whose name I can’t recall and/or don’t know) both lived in the same house. Upon hearing this, my grandfather got that look on his face - the look that a kid gets right as he’s connecting the dots - and excitedly said to my mom, “WELL THEN GO BUY THAT HOUSE ALREADY.” Because if my sister and I were even to walk across the same floorboards as these brilliant men, we too would undoubtedly win Nobel prizes as well.

Because every five year old knows that the only Asian girls in America are adopted…

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this ludicrousness.

As you can see, Clarissa is quite an amazing shrimp and chicken dumpling. She’s cute as ever, and at age 22, she’s still perky in all the right spots. Herbert, on the other hand, is not much of a catch. He’s droopy and wrinkly, and has no teeth. It’s rumored that this little bombshell is with an ugly old man because of the latter’s vast fortune of a gazillion billion, but it could also be because of the size of his meat..

The only good thing that came out of fishing.. A cool picture of a gigantic bait?

The only things that were missing were several air mattresses and reception for my cell phone!

Saying that I’m not much of an outdoorsy person would be like saying that Megan Fox is the sexiest woman ever. If you don’t understand that that is the hugest understatement in the world, please get the fuck out. I often spend my days glued to my computer chair seat, my spine is slowly curving to the right because of the way I sit hunched over the keyboard, and I think I may develop carpal tunnel syndrome any one of these days. So camping is quite out of the realm of normalcy for me. I’m going mainly because I think it’s something that everyone should experience at least once in their life time. And also, I’m hoping my mom will do something that will allow me to say to my kids, if I ever have any,”You think I’m crazy?! Well MY mother…” She’s bringing cheap wine to a place that doesn’t allow alcohol, and she’s an interesting drunk,  so I’m sure there’s a multitude of hilarious things just waiting to happen.

Before I drive three hours to pitch a tent in rural Pennsylvania, I’ll leave you with what I wore yesterday to hang out with The Boyfriend. This should mean a lot, because if the mosquitoes give me malaria, or if I get hypothermia from swimming in the cold lake, or if a bear decides to maul me, or if my tent collapses on me, or if I am unable to shower properly for three days and develop an unheard of disease, or if I go into withdrawal from being away from my computer for longer than a day and fall into a deep depression, or if a skunk sprays me in the eyes and I accidentally run into a spiky branch as I’m blindly trying to run away from it, this may be the last you see of me for a while. I like to think of myself as an optimist. Keep your fingers crossed that I may come home safe.

Also, this is the new work shirt I got! It suits my adoration for oversized bows, and I’m sure I’ll be able to wear it every day instead of just to work! Also, blurry pictures wreak havoc on my hair/head.

1. He gave me candy right off the bat. Isn’t their an age-old adage that states “don’t take candy from strangers” ?!

2. His reason for giving me candy was that I was a pretty girl. I think he said something along the lines of “anything for a pretty girl like yourself.” Although I would swoon if The Boyfriend, George Clooney, OR ANY OTHER NORMAL MALE WHO ISN’T 20 YEARS MY SENIOR said that to me, it is not charming coming from a man in an ice cream truck, especially when I am wearing a bikini.

3. When I told him I didn’t have any money with which to buy a Spongebob popsicle and asked him when he came around so I could get ice cream another time, he gave me his number and told me to call him if I wanted him to come around.

The only problem is, I REALLY REALLY adore Spongebob popsicles, and I can’t seem to find them anywhere else. I may just have to hit up Joe some time :/

In other news, I went shopping on my birthday, and got some new stuff. I wore them yesterday when I went to eat dinner with The Boyfriend. Initially he was all “Ewww suspenders” and I was all “Don’t you eww me, these are cuter than a pair of baby penguins.” And then eventually he grudgingly admitted that he did think I looked cute, he just can’t was turned off by the idea of suspenders. I add to the world by changing people’s perceptions of suspenders!

Yes, I am quite aware that my thighs are Antarctica sized, please refrain from looking at them and instead focus on the cuteness that is those shorts!

Tomorrow I’m spending the day with my family, but today I spent the day at Six Flags (a theme park) with The Boyfriend! Except for an incident that included a gross looking girl with a butt the size of Australia and shorts the size of New Zealand, our day was lovely! In addition to going on plenty of roller coasters (I LOVE ROLLER COASTERS, AHHH!!), we also went over to the drive through safari and looked at all the lovely animals! Although I do feel a little terrible about the animals’ sad existences…… They are just too damn cute/lovely/pretty.
