  1. Shopping online on Black Friday: How to save a ton of money

November 4, 2012 by So Facetious

Black Friday shopping on retail stores is a love-hate experience. We understand that despite the huge discounts for all items on sale, not everybody  is okay with the long queue and the big crowd of excited shoppers, especially if you are a mom who can’t leave your kids behind and have to tag them along with you. Nobody wants to be embarrassed being the mother of a lost child. Aside from not finding what you were looking for, shopping Black Friday could end up as a terrible experience. I am sure you’ve had few experiences from the  previous years, we definitely don’t want you to go through that nightmare again.

Thank the geeks for technology, shopping is made convenient these days by doing it online. You can just sit back at home, and relax. Now our problem is not yet over, we still need help how to not over spend this holiday season and still save a ton of money. Since it is easier to just select and purchase online, be careful not to spend beyond your needs.

Here are some helpful tips to save money despite shopping online on Black Friday:

    1. Get the best deals in Black Friday Shopping Ads – This means you have to do your research first before the big day and the best way to do it is by checking the ads and take note of them. You will save more time and energy than not preparing or not knowing which site to go which offers the best deals.
    2. Make a list and check it twice (in advance)– just like Santa, make a list of things you need to purchase and make sure to compute the total amount first before purchasing all of them so you will know the exact budget required. Not making a list would end up buying things you don’t need, worst, you would end up giving a lousy gift because you were not prepared and you don’t know what to do with what you just purchased.
    3. Choose stack back programs – lucky for us, most online stores give a percentage amount for every minimum purchase to their products, a check will be mailed to your home. All you have to do is just sign up and go through the links to do your shopping.
    4. Take advantage of free shipping and coupon codes – most online stores offer free shipping for a minimum amount of purchase on their items. Go to online websites that sells most of the things that you need to save shipping fee and collect coupon codes to save more on your purchases.
    5. Be careful when shopping online – make sure the website where you purchase your things is secured. Many scammers will take advantage of this event to steal your identity or your money. To know if a site is secured, a webpage with an active SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is considered secured. To easiest way to identify this, is to check out the lock symbol on the lower right corner of the website, or check the URL and see if the link starts with “https”. That’s how to identify if the site is secured and also if the site uses Paypal for transactions.

Shopping on Black Friday is most convenient and a good money saver if you apply these 5 helpful tips.

  2. 6 Romantic Date Ideas for Young Couples

May 7, 2012 by So Facetious

Young couples these days are creative, fickle minded and always wanted to try different things than stick with the old fashion way. When going on a date, we were taught that the first impression lasts. You might ask “What are the best romantic date ideas to make a very good first impression?” If the first date goes well, of course you want more to come and more fresh ideas every date to impress that special person. Your lasting impression could lead to a long and good relationship, so it’s always best to start it right.
For young couples, here are 6 inexpensive romantic date ideas that you would want to try:

    1. Head for the beach – if you are lucky enough to live near the beach, you might want to go ahead and pack some healthy snacks and don’t forget to bring a huge mat that you can sit and lie on. Dig your toes into the sand, let the fresh air and the sound of the waves make you feel relax. Nothing is more romantic than watching the sunset together by the beach or talk under the big sky and bright stars.

    2. Walk the dogs at the park – if you and your date are dog lovers, there’s no better way to go on a date than bringing those adorable pets. You can walk at the park, and have fun by playing catch with your doggies. There’s no better way to impress your dog lover date than being a good dog lover yourself.

    3. Watch a good movie – this is a classic and still effective these days. If you are the shy type and don’t know much about your date and what to talk about, bring her to the movies, watching a movie is a good conversation starter. Of course you can’t talk while the movie is going on, or somebody might throw their popcorn or spray shhhhh at you, it’s after the movies where you can talk about what she thinks, how she felt about it and give her your opinions as well. If there’s a good movie going on, invite her to watch it with you. Share the popcorn and ask her for dinner afterwards. Talking about the movie is a good start, before you know it, you’ve already spent hours talking about different things to each other.

    4. Play video games or Kinect – if you and your date are video gamers, do something fun and inexpensive on your date like playing Kinect at your house. Young couples these days are into video games. They spend more time at home playing video games than going out. If you and your date are those type, order a pizza, drink some cold beers, talk about your favourite games and achievements. Kinect is a fun game that you and your date can enjoy by competing and just enjoying your time together. Let her win and praise her, also show her how good you are.

    5. Candlelit dinner at home – there’s nothing more impressive than going out with someone who can cook. There are thousands of recipes available online that you can try. If you are a natural cook, impress your date with your God given talent. There is saying that “A way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” (or vice versa).

    6. Invite her for a coffee – invite her to drink coffee with you in your favourite café, talk about each other’s favourite books and authors, share or buy each other dessert. Bring her a flower, this classic gesture never fails.

We hope these 6 romantic date ideas will leave a good and lasting impression on your date and will hopefully lead you to a great relationship. Be creative, stand out, and be memorable.

  3. The 5 Best Moisturizers for Your Skin

March 20, 2012 by So Facetious

Women like to feel good all the time despite the stress, the busy schedule, the crazy hair, dry skin and etc. We all want soft glowing skin with anti-aging formula to make us feel good and beautiful despite everything else that we go through each day. We like to get the value of our money on skin care products especially if they work like magic and give lasting results. Like clothing, skin care moisturizers are one of every woman’s must haves.

The best moisturizers make our skin smooth, soft, protected from harmful UV rays, and smelling good. We all have different types of skin, that means we need to know the different types of skin moisturizers based on our skin type and needs.

    1. Oily skin
Oily skin is one of the most common skin problems, it is embarrassing, and annoying. You don’t want someone to make a joke on you that they can fry potatoes with that much oil on your face. It is tough to buy products for oily skin. The Clinque Dramatically different Moisturizing Gel is a classic skin care product and a thousand of these are sold every second around the world.

    2. Sensitive skin
Moisturizing your skin day and night helps locking in the essential moisture to keep your sensitive skin from drying out. The fragrance free and organic Purity regenerating moisturizer gives you that moisturized feeling for your dry and sensitive skin.

    3. Anti-aging moisturizers
Let’s face it, nobody likes to look older than their age. Unlike fairy tales and movies, there is no such thing as the fountain of youth or magic potions to maintain one’s youth or preserve it. This is where Elizabeth Arden’s PREVAGE Day Ultra Protection Anti-Aging Moisturizer come to the rescue. It makes your skin softer and it minimizes your wrinkles. It contains antioxidants that acts as a skin protector shielding your skin from stress, environmental pollutions and the sun’s harmful rays. It also develops skin radicals that make your skin produce more collagen and elastin to tighten and give your skin that youthful glow.

    4. Sun protection
Although sun bathing is one sexy way to show off our flesh, we need sun protection from the harmful UV rays. Applying sun block is not just for sun bathing, it must also be a part of your everyday regimen because the sun’s harmful rays can greatly damage and age the skin. All sun block have SPF (Sun Protector Factor) rating that indicates how long the sunblock cream/lotion will last before reapplying. So if you get sunburn after 10 minutes exposure to the sun without sunscreen, an SPF 15 will protect you for 150 minutes (just simply multiply the minutes of exposure and SPF number of your sunblock).

    5. Dehydrated or dry skin
You may be surprised that getting a moisturized or healthy skin is not achieved just by applying the best moisturizers in the market, it also achieved by getting the right nutrients with the food you eat and the amount of your water intake. You need at least 8 litres per day and sometimes it depends on your daily activity. The more you sweat out, the more water you need to rehydrate yourself.
