Right back into the swing of things..

My last year of high school started today, and I can’t say I’m too pleased about that. What awaits me in the months ahead are tons of stress over what college I’m going to, which, annoyingly enough, can affect the rest of my life as well…. I’m still sifting through about a thousand photos I took during my week in Aruba, so I’ll probably post about that later. For now, just an outfit post before I go and finish up my summer reading….

Dress: AA
Shoes: Clark’s
Necklace: PacSun
Purse: ….Chinatown. I know I lack morals.

The Boyfriend (who took these pictures, thanks babe) hates it when he sees pictures of people looking at their feet, so when he accidentally got one of me doing just that, I knew that I had to put it up just to spite him. Love you sweetie!

Also, I impulsively decided at around 11pm last night to cut my bangs straight across. I think I did pretty well with them, although The Boyfriend is distressed because he likes side bangs more.

Aruba!

In about 7 hours I’ll be on a plane to Aruba, baby.

I harbor a secret desire to get accosted by Girls Gone Wild so that I can tell great stories when I’m 80 and horrify my grandchildren.

See y’all next Tuesday!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Today was my mom’s 47th birthday. Although I have the photos I took today saved in a folder called “Mommy’s 23rd Birthday.” We didn’t do much special since she hates birthdays, apparently, and she doesn’t like spending money. So we had lunch at a cheap buffet and then we ate the cake that my sister and I made her!

It looks a little gross in that picture, but it was chockful of love so it tasted great.

Nothing much to say about this movie other than the fact that it’s one of those silly boy humor movies that The Boyfriend seems to love so much. (Sorry, love!) This movie was pretty much a waste of my time aside from the fact that it featured Robert Downey Jr a.k.a. Iron Man (Ugh, so hot) as a white man playing a black man.

And it also featured a bald, slightly tubby Tom Cruise getting down to Low by Flo Rida. Great stuff. I’ve made The Boyfriend promise to learn how to dance like that.

Spamalot

Although the train to NYC was over an hour delayed and we had to wait at Penn Station until 12:42am because my dad had the only set of keys for the car, my trip to NYC was a lot of fun! Spamalot is crazily hilarious; I’ve come to realize that I really enjoy a bit of dry British humor.. It was a bit weird to hear Reverend Camden of 7th Heaven saying bastard, though. I definitely recommend Spamalot to anyone who’s thinking of seeing it, although I would probably suggest Mammia Mia before it because Mamma Mia is just amazing!

Another mishap that happened was my mother telling me that I looked like a hooker. I’m not sure that means much because my mother thinks that anything red is the mark of a hooker and any sort of tights or footwear other than opaque black tights or sneakers are symbolic of prostitution, but it is a little upsetting. I suppose I understand her reaction, because I was wearing vertically striped tights and all. She acted as though we were 16th century Puritans and I was screaming God’s name in vain while cavorting with several infidels.. on a Sunday.

I wore it with the scarf in the second picture, because I kinda liked how the horizontal/vertical stripes looked together, but I’m kinda liking the way the red pops. I’ve been feeling a lot of black lately.

Dress (As shirt): American Apparel
Skirt: Forever 21
Tights: Sock Dreams. These are actually thigh highs, but since my legs have a combined length of a foot, they go all the way up to my crotch. They could go farther, if my legs were longer.
Red Scarf: Grandmother’s
Striped Scarf: No idea
